Dennis and his Drums

1956 February – April

After Dennis and Daphne were married, Dennis continued to play the Drums. This was mostly at the Green Gate in Caister, then and now a regular venue for live music.

This part time carreer as a musician was interupted in May 1956 when Dennis was involved in a no-fault collision whilst riding his motor bike home from the Green Gate.

He, (and us)  was extremely fortunate to have survived that. During the period while he was recovering, Daphne had us two young Children to bring up. She was a very strong Wife and Mother to get through that.

Most of this is a faint memory for us Children and not many pictures exist of that time.

There’s a few just before the collision. Like here with us on his drums.

We must have been difficult neighbours!!!
